Having a plan of action is key. Social media is always growing and evolving but knowing where and how to start is essential. It is easy to create any social media account of your choice, but having a plan will help set goals for your online presence. It is important to be able to measure your efforts by setting this goal. Knowing what you want to get out of marketing your business online will help build the frame of how your business will evolve online.

2. Choose Which Platforms Work Best For Your Brand

Each social media platform users range from different demographics. It is important to do research before diving right into one platform, or even multiple. Don’t waste your time on a platform where your target audience is not active on. Maybe targeting Gen Z on Facebook isn’t the best move, but focusing your time on Instagram and TikTok could be beneficial. Doing this research before and identifying where your target audience is most active on will make a big difference when marketing your online brand.

Every business and brand has a specified target audience. Being able to identify your target audience is essential when building your business online. Do research on the type of people who will be purchasing your products. Knowing your target audience will then help you create content geared towards that specific audience.

Once you can idneitfy your target audience, you can grow and expand it. You can look at your social media plan and think of new ways to reach a whole new audience to be able to grow your business. You can also use tools within social media to reach a new audience, such as promoting your posts for a specific demographic or location. Having this new reach of people will help your business grow online and raise awareness for your brand.

5. Build Relationships with Your Consumers

Consumers want to be able to relate to a brand and know that the brand they are interacting with is not just a robot. Building authentic relationships with your customers will help build of brand loyalty amongst consumers. Engage with your customers on social media and reassure them that you are not just an online brand, there is people behind the brand too!

6. Create Engaging Content

Create content that your targeted audience can engage with and relate too. Don’t create just anything. Plan out your posts and set goals for each post. You can use a social media calendar to plan out your posts weeks in advance and be able to create content that will be engaging with your audience. Use tactics such as CTA’s to drive your consumers to engage. Research and learn about the type of content your audience will engage with. Be sure your content is geared towards your specified audience and that you are not just creating content that will not succeed.

7. Use Scheduling Tools to Free Up Time

There are many different tools out there that can help you schedule out your content weeks or even months in advance. This will help free up your time so you can have more time to engage with your audience or create more social content. Some examples of great scheduling platforms are: Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Loomly, Planoly, and Later.
